Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce Visits MCU

President Marcotte with a group of people

In October, MCU hosted the monthly Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce Lunch & Learn in the View Room. President Brian Marcotte addressed the chamber about the ongoing progress and growth of MCU. Ruben Barajas, Director of Development, spoke about the goal of the Marymount Advisory Committee and how to join. Roshni D. Lal, Assistant Director of Career Planning & Employer Relations, spoke about becoming an Employer Partner with MCU in order to provide internship and job opportunities for MCU students and alumni. All three spoke about the variety of ways in which area professionals and organizations can collaborate with MCU.

The event was a great success. About 30 chamber members from a variety of industries attended and several attendees are now Employer Partners and have posted positions on MCU’s Mariner Career Connect site.

The President of the MBCC, Mark Lipps, also addressed the group and encouraged them to get involved with MCU. He said MCU is exactly the kind of gem that the chamber and community want to support and promote.
